Our Story

“Alforno was born from a lifelong passion for Italian pizza, sparked by an unexpected journey.

Chef Mohamed, an Egyptian with a love for travel, went to Italy in 1990 to watch the World Cup. However, during his trip, one taste of authentic Italian pizza changed his life forever. Inspired by its unique flavors, he decided to work at his uncle’s restaurant in Austria, where he began honing his pizza-making skills. While the pizza there was good, it didn’t match the magic of what he had tasted in Italy. Determined to learn the secrets of true Italian pizza, Chef Mohamed returned to Italy and mastered the art that would become his life's mission. After years of perfecting his craft, he returned to his uncle's restaurant, bringing with him a taste that quickly made it the best pizza spot in Austria.

With a dream of sharing authentic Italian pizza with his homeland, Chef Mohamed dedicated himself to this vision for over 25 years. Today, that dream has come to life with Alforno, where he invites Egypt to experience the true essence of Italian pizza, crafted with the same passion that first inspired him."
